The Royal Conservatory of Music, located in Toronto, offers a graded program to achieve piano excellence. The program commences at an introductory level and advances the student through ten or more Grades.
Those individuals wishing to enter a music related career or to obtain a Grade X11 school credit normally require a Grade V111 R.C.M standing. Most students require five to eight years to obtain this designation.
Achieve your R.C.M. Grade V111 within twenty four (24) months.
Important Notice: Student progress in this program can vary greatly and as such the time frame for completion is an estimate only. We do not guarantee students will complete the lesson program within the twenty four (24) months.
A suitable piano available to the student. No previous musical experience required.
The student must be a self-starting, disciplined and focused individual capable of spending a minimum of one and one half hours daily at the piano (less time in the early stage of the process). A further one to three hours weekly is required to complete the theoretical requirements.
Piano lessons will be 1 hour in duration at a cost of $55.00 per hour, payable one semester in advance via post dated cheques. If for some reason completion of the program becomes impossible, funds/cheques not utilized will be returned on a pro-rated basis
* Grade 111 completed by 5 months from start date.
* Rudiments exam written 5 months from start date
* Grade V piano exam taken nine months from start date
* Grade 1 theory exam written 11 months from start date
* Grade 11 theory exam written 14 to 23 months from start date
* Grade V111 piano exam taken 22 to 24 months from start date
